The Problem
Politics is making us sick. Every day brings a relentless cycle of news alerts, political scandal and deep divisiveness. It seems the only thing that unites us is how over “it” we all are. So how is MSNBC supposed to celebrate democracy in its 2020 campaign coverage through all the pandemonium and noise?
The Solution: Remove the stress of politics by creating the first ever political wellness center.
A place where people can learn, rest and ready themselves for the election cycle ahead.
The Waiting Room
Upon entry, guests will be asked to fill out digital intake forms designed to assess their “political health.” Within seconds they’ll receive customized reports of their diagnosis and they’ll be directed to different rooms for specialized “treatments.”

Diagnoses & Specialized “Treatments”
↓
Diagnosis: Politicophobia
The fear of remaining politically involved due to the bitter divisiveness that plagues American politics.
Treatment: Town Hall Therapy
A sensory experience where political discussions take a turn for the better. Lester Holt’s voice will fill the room as footage of inspiring moments from American political history surround guests—allowing them to reflect on the best American politics has to offer and discuss them.
Diagnosis: Twitter Thumb
A compulsive disorder where sufferers have uncontrollable, recurring thoughts (obsessions) and/or behaviors (compulsions) that require them to constantly consume and/or participate in political conversations on social media.
Treatment: News Cleanse
A 100% politics-free zone where guests can engage in personal wellness and productivity—a news cleanse when they need it most. The experience is built around a series of wellness stations such as green juice stands and mediation sessions focused on mindfulness and breathing (hey, maybe Congress should try this).
Diagnosis: White House Worry
The general inability to cope with all things Presidential, be it the primary race, the current White House, the presidential debates or the endless amount of updates related to the 2020 presidential race.
Treatment: Emotional Support Animals
A room dedicated to emotional support animals—trustworthy rescue dogs and cats—who are ready to rescue people from their endless worry and help us weather the storm.
A Treatment for All: The Democracy Hotline
A live hotline where people can dial a dedicated number, (i.e. 1-800-NBC-2020) throughout the 2020 campaign trail and be greeted by political counselors, information specialists and meditation experts who can answer their political questions or help them reach a state of calm about the state of politics.
