The Problem
Sims is a pioneer for inclusivity and diversity in video games. But after scavenging multiple Sims online forums and polls, one common theme kept coming up: young players want more diverse worlds.
The Solution: Use the influence of Condé Nast to take the diversity in Sims to the next level.
How it Works
Using the cultural insight and foresight of Condé Nast, we’ll build a world that brings people closer to their actual lives. Each brand will look at different aspects of diversity through their distinct lens and collaborate with EA to implement their authoritative views in the gameplay.
All these enhancements will come together under a downloadable “culture pack” that has the Condé Nast stamp of approval.
Gameplay Exploration
We’ll explore the full spectrum of beauty: skin tone shades, hair colors and textures, body imperfections and how they’re represented and customized in gameplay
We’ll explore how people with physical disabilities and sensory impairments are represented in the game and how players with these disabilities in real-life can play
We’ll explore the evolution of masculinity and how it’s represented in a character’s style, mannerisms, emotion, and career roles
We’ll explore the breaking of cultural stereotypes and inclusion of more niche neighborhoods and “townies” that are embodiments of real-life characters
We’ll explore the subject of gender and inclusion and how the LGBTQ community is represented from the ways bodies look to style and pronoun options
